PINKFONG Wiki

In the first episode of the first season, Pinkfong was seen with his golden crown and necklace, riding a giant star high in the air.  This giant star, as well as Pinkfong’s golden necklace, is named Pio (on Pinkfong’s official website, they state that he is the Prince of Staria.  This is supposedly where he got his crown and necklace from). Pinkfong spotted a house as he was riding through the clouds.  He was interested, and ordered Pio to take him down through the clouds.  However, during this, Pio malfunctioned and made Pinkfong descend at a very fast speed.  He attempted to gain control of Pio, and did so partially, but that did not stop the giant star, so it ended up crashing on to the roof of the house.  That house belonged to a hedgehog named Hogi.

In Pinkfong Wonderstar, Pinkfong is usually shown as a very curious fox.  This is also confirmed on Pinkfong’s website.  His curiosity was first shown in episode one, when he wanted to meet Hogi after crashing on top of his house.  He greeted Hogi, and then proceeded to have a look around his room.  In doing so, Pinkfong’s clumsiness was also represented, because he chucked Hogi’s books around the room, with one of the books hitting Hogi straight in the face (this scene was cut out in the Pinkfong Wonderstar YouTube Release).  Another clumsy moment of Pinkfong, which happened shortly after he was messing with Hogi’s books, was when he rushed over to check out his telescope.  Hogi panicked, and ran over to prevent him from messing with it, but Hogi ended up stepping on a toy train that flung himself and smashed straight into his telescope, breaking it.  A point that could be up for debate was whether it was Pinkfong’s or Hogi’s fault for the disassemble of his telescope.  Although, shortly afterwards, Pinkfong did not want to make Hogi feel upset, so he fixed the telescope by using the magic from Pio. This cheered Hogi up, and shows that Pinkfong always cares about his friends.

Pinkfong’s personality usually differs, depending on the episode.  Pinkfong likes working with Hogi by solving their friends’ problems in Wonderville, and this also encourages a positive message about helping your friends when they need it. In multiple episodes, Pinkfong is rarely seen scared.  An example of this is in “Good Night, Jojo” when Hogi and Jojo were scared about the strange noise that was audible in Jojo’s room.  Pinkfong seemed confused, but once he realised that Jojo and Hogi were scared, he comforted them.  In the same scene, Pinkfong says, “Do you have any neighbours that like to drop giant weights?”.  This line could suggest that Pinkfong is trying to comfort Hogi and Jojo by talking to them in an amusing manner, and by trying to take the noise off their heads and make them less worried.  We can see that Pinkfong is not afraid by the sound and shows that he is brave.  However, in We are Wonderstar, Pinkfong acts differently.  He boasts about his new glove he received, while taking little to no notice of Hogi’s hand-drawn blueprint.  Later on, the glove malfunctioned and tore Hogi’s blueprint to pieces by accident, and instead of apologising, Pinkfong laughed nervously straight away.  In this scene, we get to see Pinkfong’s clumsy side once again.

Most of the time, Pinkfong is friendly to all the characters in Wonderville, but one of the characters that Pinkfong does not like too much is Billi.  This is evident in episode five of season one, when Billi invited Pinkfong and Hogi to take a detective test.  Pinkfong had to hand his crown over to Billi if they failed, and Billi had to give them a golden coin if they passed.  Pinkfong and Hogi passed the test, but Billi tricked them into thinking the chocolate coin was a golden coin, so Pinkfong and Hogi got mad.  Billi even threw his cloak on them in order to stop them from catching him while he was running away, so that fuelled Pinkfong’s anger.  Pinkfong’s fury against Billi is also shown in multiple season two episodes, but there was a moment in episode fifteen of season two where he thanked Billi.  This shows that Pinkfong always has a little bit of respect, even to his enemies. This scene could be sharing a message about helping others, regardless of if you like them or not.

To conclude, Pinkfong’s endless curiosity, determination, and bravery is what makes him a great character in Pinkfong Wonderstar.  The way he treats the residents of Wonderville display positive messages about friendship, and his hard work with Hogi inspires classic messages to the millions of viewers watching the show – to never give up, and to always work hard.
