Baby Shark's Big Show! (Korean: 아기상어 올리와 윌리엄, Baby Shark Ollie and William) is a preschool television series created by the South Korean company Pinkfong as well as Nickelodeon. It is part of the wider Baby Shark brand. Kim Min-seok, the CEO of Pinkfong, is the executive-producer of the series. The Pinkfong Company, the parent company of Pinkfong, owns the trademark to the show.

On March 13th, 2021, the show's main character, Baby Shark, won a Kids’ Choice Award in the “Favorite Baby” category.

On July 20th, 2021, the series was renewed for a second season, consisting of 26 half-hour episodes.[1]

The network announced in a press release June 13, 2023 that it renewed the series for Season 3.[2] On May 3, 2024, Emily Gerich(storyboard and character designer - Baby Shark's Big Show!) posted that the third season is revealed to be the final season of the series.[3]

On November 14, 2023, Baby Shark's Big Movie! is set to be scheduled on December 8, 2023 to premiere on Nickelodeon at 12:00pm and streaming on Paramount+.[4]

Plot, Characters, and Songs

The show features Baby Shark, William the fish, Mommy Shark, Daddy Shark, Grandma Shark, and Grandpa Shark in their underwater home. The theme song is "Baby Shark's Big Show! Theme Song". The ending song is "Baby Shark's Big Show! Ending Song".

Broadcast

In South Korea, the show premiered on EBS on December 25, 2020. In the United States, the show premiered on Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. on December 11, 2020. In Canada, it airs on Treehouse TV.

Trivia

Differences from the source material

  • The show features a new animation style that is strongly distinguished from the original animation of the songs, and the brand's general look.
  • In Korean, Baby Shark is named "Ollie". To keep the same amount of syllables when talking, he is nicknamed "Baby" in English.
  • The show has many comedic scenes, in a similar vein to SpongeBob SquarePants, a show that airs on the same network.
    • Coincidentally, both shows take place in the ocean, and the main characters are both yellow sea creatures.
  • The series introduces new characters, but strangely, Some characters from the original videos like ChiChi are nowhere to be seen in the series.
