A True Detective is the 5th episode of Pinkfong Wonderstar. It premiered on July 25, 2019.

Synopsis[]
Billi wants to have Pinkfong's crown, so he disguises himself as a detective evaluator and invites Wonderstar to take a detective test. If they succeed, they will be given a golden badge. If they fail, Billi will receive Pinkfong's crown. To get the gold badge, Hogi and Pinkfong take the challenge. [1] In the episode, Billi tricks Wonderstar into thinking that he's someone different by disguising himself.
Plot[]
The first challenge is a game of "Spot the difference" with two pictures of Baby Shark. Pinkfong and Hogi struggle with this challenge, and Hogi even uses his magnifying glass to spot a difference (he was seen talking to Pinkfong about it in the beginning of the episode). Hogi notices a black spot on one of the pictures, but he wasn't too sure about it, so Pinkfong uses his magic to make the magnifying glass bigger. With closer inspection, they both notice that the black spot was not on the first picture. Billi accepts defeat and is angry through the speaker. Pinkfong and Hogi celebrate, however, there is another challenge that they have to complete. The doors between the two pictures open.
For the second challenge, they have to step on the correctly-coloured buttons and form a sequence of them. If they step on the wrong button, there will be a consequence. The room is full of buttons with different colours, so it makes the challenge look impossible. Pinkfong doesn't notice at first and accidentally steps on the wrong button. Flour canons appear from the walls and flour is dumped over him. Billi talks them through the game from the speaker and once again, Pinkfong accidentally steps on the wrong button. This time, a bucket of water is dumped on him. Pinkfong and Hogi both look for clues in order to complete the challenge. Suddenly, Hogi notices a rainbow on the ceiling. Pinkfong and Hogi step on the buttons with the same colours as the rainbow and they did not get anything dumped on their head in the process. Pinkfong and Hogi complete the second challenge. They have one more to go.
The last challenge is a maze. Pinkfong and Hogi only have a few minutes to find the exit of the maze. However, what they don't know is that Billi is blocking the exit door so that they cannot open it. Pinkfong and Hogi scramble quickly through the maze to find the entrance. Half-way through, they have no luck. Then Pinkfong comes up with an idea. He transforms an object into a compass, so that they can navigate themselves through the maze, and find the exit. They find a door (that Billi is secretly blocking) but they cannot open it, so they turn around to try and find another exit. Suddenly, they hear a noise coming from the direction of where the door is. It was Billi sneezing. Pinkfong and Hogi turn back around again to the direction of the door, and they find a piece of fluff on the floor, presumably from the moustache that Billi is wearing. The timer only shows that there is a few seconds left, so without a choice, Pinkfong and Hogi decide to run and smash the door down. They have completed the last challenge.
When Pinkfong and Hogi get back up after smashing the door down, they find Billi laying down next to them. Billi's moustache, glasses and hat fall off, and they immediately recognize that Billi convinced them to take the challenge. Hogi finds the golden badge on the floor and takes it. However, Hogi finds out that the golden badge is actually a chocolate coin wrapped in gold foil. Pinkfong and Hogi clearly look disgusted, and Billi is left speechless. Without hesitation, Billi chucks his coat over Pinkfong and Hogi, and runs away as fast as possible. They both lift the coat over their heads and try to catch up, but Billi is too far ahead, so they don't bother chasing him. Pinkfong then feels glad that Billi didn't take his crown, and Hogi takes a few bites of the chocolate coin. The episode ends.

Mistakes[]
When Pinkfong picked up the fluff from the floor in the end of part 3, they forgot to colour in parts of Pinkfong's tail, leaving it grey at the very tip.
